Spring is bringing exciting new flavors and experiences to East Cobb and surrounding areas! From craft beer and wine tasting to cozy coffee shops and Italian fare, there’s something new to explore. Here’s a roundup of recent restaurant openings, expansions, and temporary closures this month.

A Hidden Gem We Just Discovered

Recently we stopped by The Butcher and Bottle in Alpharetta, and it’s definitely a spot worth sharing. While the restaurant itself is fairly new to Alpharetta, the team behind it isn’t new to the dining scene. This is the sixth restaurant from the hospitality group, and their experience really shows in the details.

The atmosphere feels warm and earthy, with comfortable seating and a lively energy that never gets too loud. If the weather is nice, their patio is a great option — it’s more enclosed than most, which makes it feel a little more intimate while still being outdoors.

The menu has some creative combinations you don’t see everywhere. We tried the Tuna Stack and the Elk Carpaccio, and both were standouts. The tuna was incredibly fresh and served in a generous stack that made it easy to share. The Elk Carpaccio was especially memorable thanks to the balsamic pearls (they look like caviar) along with a horseradish aioli that added just the right kick.

We also ordered their burger, which is made from dry-aged beef and cooked over an open fire like all of their steaks. It was incredibly flavorful. Honestly, it didn’t taste like a typical burger at all. It came topped with red wine jam and melted balsamic onions, alongside crispy potato fingerlings. It was a little messy, but absolutely worth it.

To top it off, we enjoyed Lemon Drop martinis, which happened to be the $10 drink special that evening.

Another reason to check it out is their happy hour:

Monday–Friday | 4–6 PM
• $10 drink special
• $4 draft beers
• $5 Blue Moon
• All appetizers $10

It’s an easy spot for an after-work meet up or a relaxed start to an evening in downtown Alpharetta.
